By submitting information through our website or purchasing a reading, you acknowledge that your personal data will be processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. WHO WE ARE (DATA CONTROLLER)
The Astro Haus is an independent astrology platform. We collect only the data necessary to fulfill your manual astrology reading:- Identity Data: Full name.
- Contact Data: Email address.
- Astrological Data: Birth date, exact birth time, and birth location.
- Special Category Data: Under certain jurisdictions (like the GDPR), astrological data may be considered “Special Category Data” as it relates to philosophical beliefs. By providing this data, you grant us explicit consent to process it for your reading.
- Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and cookies for website optimization.
3. PURPOSES & LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING
We process your data based on the following legal frameworks:- Performance of a Contract: To generate and deliver the reading you purchased.
- Explicit Consent: For the processing of birth details and philosophical data.
- Legitimate Interests: To improve our services and ensure website security.
- No Automated Decision-Making: We strictly provide manual readings interpreted by human experts. We do not use AI or automated algorithms to profile you or generate your results.
4. SERVICE DELIVERY & REFUND PROTOCOL
As each reading is a bespoke, human-generated service:- Processing: Work begins shortly after submission. Because the service is personalized, it is non-refundable once the astrologer has commenced work.
- Delays: While we aim for a 5–7 day turnaround, high demand may extend this. You will be notified of significant delays.
5. DATA SHARING & INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
We do not sell your data. We share it only with:- Master Astrologers: Vetted independent contractors (primarily in India) who receive only the details needed for your reading. They are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
- Sub-Processors: Essential services including Stripe/PayPal (Payments), Google Workspace/DigitalOcean (Hosting/Email), and Cloudflare (Security).
- Global Transfers: Your data moves between Germany (storage) and India (interpretation). We use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure your data remains protected regardless of borders.
6. DATA RETENTION: THE 30-DAY PURGE
To minimize your digital footprint, we follow a strict retention schedule:- Reading PDFs: Your completed astrology report is purged from our active operational systems 30 days after delivery.
- Transaction Records: We retain basic invoice data (Name, Date, Amount) as required by German tax and accounting laws (typically 10 years).
7. YOUR GLOBAL RIGHTS
Under the GDPR and DPDP Act, you have the following rights:- Right to Erasure: You may request that we delete your data at any time.
- Right to Access: You may request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You may revoke your consent for data processing (this will result in the cancellation of any pending readings).
- Right to Complain: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g., the German BfDI).
